As a preschooler, Christy Callahan was known to lose track of time while playing "office" with her crayons in the backyard. She carried her thirst for learning throughout her school years, being voted Most Intellectual Female in high school, which she completed at age sixteen. By that time, she had become fluent in French and German and left home to study abroad. At Carnegie Mellon University, Christy studied social history and second-language acquisition, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with University Honors after three years. She then chaired the Women's Concerns Committee and earned her MA in Intercultural Studies at Fuller Seminary. She studied Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology out of a deep passion for gently welcoming babies in the womb and the world.

Thanks to her love of language and her heart for people, Christy Callahan is a capable and dedicated proofreader, editor, and life coach. Though she is cerebral, she is caring and down-to-earth. A Gold Member of The Christian PEN (Proofreaders and Editors Network) and certified by the Christian Editor Connection (CEC), she has attended PENCON, an annual conference for Christian editors, in Austin, TX (2015) and Atlanta, GA (2017), was a chosen as a workshop presenter for PENCON 2019 in Nashville, TN. Christy Callahan of Professional Publishing Services was named of the "19 Top Freelance Christian Book Editors." Her writing has been published in academic journals, The Christian Childbirth Handbook, Doulas of North America's magazine, and Helpguide.org.
